A flimsy lurks in your drawer,
You’ve pieced and pressed, can do no more.
The borders wave, the seams are flat,
But quilting? You’re not up for that.
Enter Lady Mollington, bold and tall,
She’ll stitch with grace across it all.
From swirls and loops to feathers neat,
She’ll make your patchwork quite complete.
No aching arms, no wrestling fight,
Just quilting magic done just right.
So bring your quilt, don’t let it stall—
Meet Lady Mollington – my Handiquilter Moxie XL with an 18" throat space (yes, she’s a big deal). She helps me take your patchwork from flimsy lurking in a drawer to ta-da moment on the bed or wall.
Whether you’d like me to quilt your project for you or fancy having a go yourself, you’re in the right place.
💷 What It Costs
Quilting service: from £150 (depends on size, design and complexity).
Basting only: £25 loading fee + £25 an hour.
Binding service: yes, I can finish it off for you – just ask.
🧵 Before You Bring Me Your Quilt
Think of this as giving Lady Mollington a smooth runway:
Backing & wadding: at least 4” bigger than your quilt top on all sides.
Pieced backings: ½” seam allowance, pressed flat.
Square things up: bottom edge of your quilt top needs to be straight.
Press, press, press: seams as flat as you can (stitch-in-the-ditch won’t work if seams are pressed open).
Trim dark threads: no one wants them showing through the quilt top.
Borders behaving? Check for wavy or baggy edges.
Label it: mark which side is the top.
Pop everything in a labelled bag, with any notes about design ideas.
Oh, and allow plenty of time – rushed quilting isn’t happy quilting.
💡 Why Use a Longarm?
Wrestling a quilt under a domestic machine is basically an arm workout you didn’t ask for.
A longarm gives your quilt a finish that shows off your piecing beautifully.
Get those UFOs (unfinished objects) out of hiding and into use.
It’s fun, creative, and honestly, it feels like magic.

❓How do I book my quilt in for you to quilt it?
You email me: [email protected] and we'll sort it all out between us.
❓What size quilts can you do?
The maximum width quilt Lady Mollington can deal with on her frame is 82 inches — this allows for the 4-inch excess wadding and backing, as her poles are 90 inches wide. The length can be anything.
❓How much does it cost?
Quilting starts from £150.
Binding service is also available on request. £25 per hour.
❓Do I need to prepare my quilt before bringing it to you?
Yes please! Backing and wadding should be at least 4 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides, seams pressed flat, and the bottom edge squared. Trim loose threads, check borders for waviness, and pop everything into a labelled bag. See the list above.
❓Can I choose the quilting design?
Absolutely — we’ll chat through design ideas together. Some designs may affect cost depending on complexity. You can choose thread colours too.
❓Do you offer a full finishing service?
Yes. I can quilt, baste, and even bind your quilt so it’s completely finished and ready to use.
❓Can I quilt my own project on your longarm?
Yes! I offer lessons so you can learn the basics and then hire Lady Mollington to finish your quilt yourself.
❓How long will it take?
Turnaround time depends on the size of your quilt, chosen design, and my current schedule. Please allow plenty of time, especially if it’s for a special occasion.
❓Why should I use a longarm instead of quilting on my domestic machine?
A longarm saves the strain on your shoulders, arms, and wrists, gives a beautiful professional finish, and frees you up to enjoy the creative part — piecing your patchwork!
Lady Mollington’s here to roar.
She’ll stitch and swirl, no stress, no fight,
And turn your quilt from meh to alright!
